New Exchanging Stories Release: the Politics of History
April 22, 2015
Guestbook is proud to announce the new contribution to our Exchanging Stories – Changing History initiative: The Politics of History.
In April 1941, Axis powers invaded the Western Balkan region and established the Independent State of Croatia under a puppet government built upon fascist and extreme Roman Catholic ideologies. This Ustaše regime quickly implemented a systematic policy of racial extermination of Jews, Serbs, and Roma peoples, set up concentration camps throughout Croatia and Bosnia. In this film, Schuyler Pals brings together a small group of young Croatians to discuss nationalism, identity, and the shift in education and culture that seeks to rewrite a controversial period in its national history.
